Obituary for DENNIS JONATHAN

 



Dennis  Jonathan (Dad,Deno) passed peacefully on June 5 , 2023 with his loving daughters & son in laws by his side at Brampton Extendicare in Brampton, Ontario, along with  the many nurses and PSW's who also came to say "bye".Deno was born to parents Salomi & Faqirjan on April 18, 1930 in Quetta, India. He was 93 at the time of his passing. Dad attended Kalsa College in Quetta, where he excelled in theatre, soccer and fostered his curiosity of knowledge. Not so much academic knowledge but the life lessons kind of knowledge & that which came from a lot of travel experience. 



He travelled the world. Deno visited almost every continent except for Antartica & the Artic. He truly was a "Harfanmolla", Jack of all trades. He spoke many languages: Urdu, Pashto, Punjabi, & many dialects. Deno was predeceased by his 2 sisters who were much older than him & his brother, Pinky Lalla. He is survived by Pinky Lalla's children Anthony, Monica & Richard Lamuel, their spouses, children & grandchildren in Pakistan & Dubai. 



Deno is survived by his beautiful wife Beatrice who he married in 1960, & by his daughters Rena (Tahir Umar Khitab), Mena (Manjinder Matharu), Grandchildren Nadeem, Shiraz & Isabella & Great grandaughter Lolamoon Umar Khitab who was the newest love of his life! 



In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Covenant House or to Children's Aid Foundation or Children's Aid Society of Toronto.



Family and friends will be received at St. John's Dixie Visitation Centre for a visitation from 1:00 p.m. tp 2:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. The service will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend in-person. Please click HERE to join the livestream
