Obituary for VITO Di PINTO

Vito Di Pinto
April 26, 1926 – September 01, 2022

Born in Loseto, (Bari) Italy, Vito immigrated to Toronto at the age of 23 in 1949 and passed away peacefully at Extendicare Halton Hills Long-Term Care Centre, on Thursday, September 01, 2022 at the age of 96.  Beloved husband to his late (1988) wife Jean Kinross (nee Brough), predeceased by his parents Michael Di Pinto and Rosa (nee Tunzi), daughter Rose (2021), sister Rosa Carone, and her late husband Tony.  Loving father of Michael (wife Janna), John, and recently discovered son Bill Higgins (wife Andrene), and daughter Linda Higgins (partner Willie), of Scotland. Proud grandfather of Carter and Sierra. Survived by his sisters Laura Cimmarusti (and her late husband Luke), and Anne Tunzi (and husband Joseph) of Chicago. Uncle to nieces and nephews in Toronto, Chicago, Australia and Scotland.
Vito worked at Canadian Coleman for more than 35 years, before retiring at the age of 64 in 1990. Vito had a passion for gardening, but the greatest joy in his life were his grandchildren.

Special thanks to the staff at Extendicare Halton Hills who provide kindness and compassion to him in the last 7 months of his life. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Mississauga Food Bank, or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated.
Vito will be laid to rest next to his wife Jean, and daughter Rose, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Woodbridge, Ontario. Due to Covid infections there will be a small service for immediate family members only.
