Reid MacMaster passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

Born December 30, 1998 in Hong Kong, Reid was like a brilliant comet in the night sky.  A bright, stunning light that was a privilege to experience and gone much too soon. Reid was a talented and passionate musician, singer and songwriter. To meet Reid was to love Reid.  His easy smile, charm and irrepressible warmth instantly put everyone at ease and drew them in.

Reid leaves behind his beloved mother Diana Compton and his adored sister Alex MacMaster. Reid also leaves his grandparents, Ralph and Pamela Compton, uncle Benjamin and aunt Judy Compton, aunt Valerie Compton and cousins Liam and Jesse, as well as aunts Jennifer and Jane MacMaster, and cousins Danica, Keiran, Sinaed and Emily – all will desperately miss their family rockstar as he moves on to join his father John and cherished Lola, Daisy, Louis, and Lucky.

The bond between Alex and Reid was something truly extraordinary and magical to witness.  Reid assumed the role of protector at the passing of their father, transitioned to being her confident and trusted advisor and then on to become Alex’s biggest fan and cheerleader.

Reid graduated from the Etobicoke School of the Arts, where he performed in many stage productions, and from Seneca College in Independent Music Production.  After being discovered at a bus stop, Reid worked as a model to support his dreams.  Reid’s real passion, and his gift to the world, was his music. His natural and charismatic stage presence was matched only by his musicianship and wonderful voice. The consummate musician, Reid worked at his craft every day, constantly improving, growing, experimenting and bringing joy to the world through music, touching the lives of countless bandmates, mentors, friends and fans.

The family will be holding a private celebration of Reid’s life.
