Obituary for LORETTO SANDFORD (Sandford)
Loretto Kathleen Sandford
July 2, 1932- March 14, 2022
Passed away after a brief illness on Monday, March 14th,2022 at Humber River Hospital in her 92nd year. She is predeceased by her parents, Kathleen and Frederick. Loretto is predeceased by her sister, Gertrude (Sister Bonaventure) and she is survived by her brothers, Edward (the late Pat) and Frederick (Marianne). She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, Michael, Peter, Helen, Frederick (Bubba), Elizabeth and Bernie. She was a great aunt to many nieces and nephews and her kindness toward them will always be remembered.
Loretto was an active member of St. Leo’s parish and she enjoyed participating in church events and in particular selling quilts at the annual bazaar that she and the quilter’s group members made. During her retirement years, Loretto volunteered for many years in the gift shop at Trillium Health Partners.
A Catholic mass will be held at St. Leo’s Roman Catholic Church, 277 Royal York Road, Etobicoke on Friday, March 18th at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Leo’s Roman Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Centre, Covenant House or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
