Obituary for Phyllis Watson (Tennant)

Watson, Phyllis May

On Sunday, September 20, 2020, Phyllis May Watson (Tennant), loving wife and mother of two children
passed away at the age of 77. Phyllis was born on October 16, 1942 in Toronto, Ontario to William
Tennant and Phyllis Hossack. She worked at Simpsons, and then moved on to office work with
accounting responsibilities. In later life, Phyllis had a desire to help people and made a career switch to
become a Personal Support Worker for many years until she retired. On August 7, 1965, she married
John Watson. They raised two children, daughter Cathy and son Robert.

Phyllis enjoyed travelling to different parts of the world such as Britain, Ireland, Alaska, the Caribbean
and the United States. She was the type of person who liked to try new things, including zip lining in St.
Lucia. Phyllis also enjoyed being involved with the parent council and volunteering at her grandson’s
school. She would assist with the weekly pizza days and whatever else needed to be done. Phyllis was
great with everyone, young or old, or anyone in between!

Phyllis was preceded in death by her father William, her mother Phyllis, and Brothers Dave and John
Tennant. She will be missed by the love of her life, John Watson, her husband of 55 years; her children
Cathy Watson and Robert Watson, grandchildren Evan Watson, Kelsi (Mike) Stephens, and Megan
Goulding; Great grandchildren Emily Walsh, Aubrii Stephens, Michael-Jr Stephens, Justin Cohen and Zion
Morris; step mother Evelyn Tennant; brothers Gord (Joan) Tennant, Mike Tennant, Pat Tennant; sisters
Jane Neilson (Clint), Susan Jenkins (Dave), Maryann (Tennant) Dowling (Pat), nephews Shane Neilson,
Albert Tennant; nieces Moya Tennant (Dave), Tara Campbell (Stef); great nieces Phoenix Bogdane,
Saoirse Bogdane; great nephews Bodi Neilson, Tyrell Neilson, Gavin Daoust.

A funeral visitation by appointment will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the G.H. Hogle
Funeral Home at 63 Mimico Avenue, Etobicoke, Ontario M8V 1R2 between 1-4 pm. Appointments can
