Obituary for Gerald Kehoe

Our dad, our grandpa, our friend passed away suddenly on Sunday,
September 22 nd in his home. Gerald (Jerry) Kehoe will be missed by his
daughter Geraldine Kehoe (Adam Gregg) and his son Wayne Kehoe
(Jade Gamble), his grandchildren Sean, Liam and Leslie and his
extended family of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Jerry will
also be missed by his many friends and his neighbours in the mimico
area where he lived for many years. The family wants to send a special
thank you to Judy Hayden a dear friend of our dad’s for many years
who took such great care of him.

The picture here was taken at Jerry’s most recent birthday celebration
where there were lots of laughs as we all watched in amazement the
consecutive trips for more dessert and the sly satisfied smile as he got
up to get more.

Jerry was born July 27 th , 1945 in Red Head Cove, Newfoundland. After
working in Labrador for a couple of years Jerry moved to Toronto to
work and raise his family. Our dad loved driving, he drove truck for a
living for many years and my brother and I have fond memories of our
annual east coast road trips to Newfoundland in the blue Ford
Econoline van all decked out with tinted tear drop windows, groovy
lights and carpeting. We rode along the TransCanada highway listening
to old country music while being tossed and turned in the back of that
van (no seat belts) for many years experiencing the east coast magic of
this country.

Jerry will be cremated with no formal service as per his strong request.
The family hopes to have a celebration of life, in the near future to
allow family and friends to share their stories.
