Dear Greg,
Wow, where do i begin ? After reading and hearing stories about you, it seems everyone knew you and you left a print in our heart and minds. You were always 'jolly' and polite, huge heart, thoughtful, smiling, funny, no matter what, even when playing bingo with us, and when your # was ready to be called to win the jackpot, but someone else called it before you, lol. Many hours we spent at the bingo hall and casino's. With either a win or loss, you still made the best of it, when you did win, you were generous with your winnings by sharing around you.
I am thankful you decided to drive all the way to P.E.I to visit me and my kids, it was a long drive but you loved to travel and see the world and you really enjoyed your trip to the east coast, it was very kind of you to make the drive with my sister, so she could spend time with her family (which was your family) when we moved there from Toronto.
I have known you since around the year 2000.
So many memories, sad and happy. Your family were always welcoming to me and our family and especially to my sister Georgia.
I will miss your sand castles and animals that you made on the beach in Mexico, you were talented and whoever saw your creations were impressed, thats you.. always there to impress just naturally.
I will miss our contests of who would get the darkest tan on our vacations, lol.
I can never thank you enough for being a great mentor to my 5 children, you never forgot about them and they adore you and you will always be their 'uncle Greg'. I am grateful to you and will be till 'We meet again my friend'.
As you always said; " Serenity Now !! ".
Love Diane Chiasson-Ford.
Shane, Travis, Brandon, Jordon, and Britney. xoxo

I love this photo in Ixtapa, Mexico at the airport waiting to catch our plane back to Toronto. (the city you loved).

It was an absolute pleasure knowing you and for being a part of my life for so many years.
My family and friends adored you especially my sister Diane and her 5 kids as you were known to them as “Uncle Greg”.

Greg, you were a very thoughtful person and was always there to help anyone when help was needed… had a big heart.
You were always around to help your parents with cutting the grass, shoveling the snow etc.
You were a smart, funny and very strong guy as some people called you the “Centurion”.
I must say that you were also a very well dressed guy. I won’t forget the time when we were going on vacation and I was hoping to put some of my accessories in your suitcase to lighten the weight on mine but you said you had no room so I asked to see what you were bringing and you had about 7 pairs of running shoes in your suitcase.
I asked why are you bringing so may running shoes you only need 1 pair and your response was to match all my shorts.

I’m very grateful that we got to remain friends for all these years, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten.

Greg, it looks like people in your life knew you and saw you through your heart...the heart is most important of all...In the classic...The little Prince, the French author Antoine de Saint-Exupery writes: "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye" It as just as he says. We cannot always tell whether something is genuine just with our eyes. Only by looking with the heart can we descent the true essence... "Daisaku Ikeda"
Please rest in peace....

The first time I met Greg was over at the TTR in The late summer of 2008. I was with the maintenance gang at Jarvis Yard helping with building Double switches at the time. He came in with other newbies at the time and we just hit it off from there. Later he was at A&B Rail and he was one of the guys to convince me to come on over. He was one of the best at what he did and was a true Professional but even a greater Person as I knew him as well on a Personal level. Early in the years at TTR he had some side Landscaping Jobs he did and I helped him on some of the projects til he retired doing that when he went to A&B Rail. He was always full of life that’s why this is so hard to comprehend. He made people laugh and always had great one liners. I know he had the respect of everyone he ever worked with and when you had him at a job site you were working at you just knew you can always count on him because he was great at what he did for a living. He loved his family and friends and he was a Big Leafs fan and Toronto sports supporter. There are so many memories that’s flooding my Head it’s hard to pick one.
The first time the UFC came to Toronto and GSP was fighting on the card at the Rogers Center. I was trying to get tickets. He knew I wanted to go and on the day of the event I was going to buy it off a scalper til he called me and told me that he had 2 tickets and to meet him at the Rogers Center and to bring a friend. I called my friend Peter who he knew as well during the old TTR days. He gave me the tickets and here we are 13 rows back from the Octagon watching GSP fight and it was an awesome time and never forgot that thanks to Greg. He was one of the great ones and I’m going to miss him terribly. It’s not the same without him around here anymore. He worked for A&B Rail and helped build this company in Eastern Canada to where it is today and his efforts should be recognized for all the long hours and extra days put in. We all left security jobs to build this company from the ground up to ensure and to build our futures for ourselves and families and we succeeded and Greg had a hand on that and I want his family and friends to know that.
It was a pleasure to work with you Greg and even greater to call you a friend forever. All of us on the rails feel a little bit more humbled today then yesterday and A void that can never be replaced left by this wonderful guy. I’m going to miss him dearly and especially when he loved to get pranks going as he would put it “adding a little Spice, peppers and onions to mix things up” and at the end it would turn into a big laugh. My family and I do send out our heartfelt condolences to Greg and his family and loved ones. This one is a tough one to swallow and he will be sorely missed. We might have lost him on earth but we’ve gained an Angel looking over us and his Spirit will live in everyone he touched. God I miss him, very heart broken haven’t stopped thinking about you. I love you big guy and I hope one day we meet again and until then you will always be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. You were one of a kind you will never be forgotten especially those pearly whites. Lol.
Rest In Peace my Dear Friend and until we meet again. I can’t say Goodbye because it’s very hard too at the moment but I was happy and honoured to get to know you Greg. Here I am thinking you’ll be coming back soon and everything will go back to normal but reality is setting in. You always wanted Tranquility and Serenity and I know you had that when you were free on the open waters on your Boat and you told me what a feeling it was to feel free and alive. Now that you are gone from this Earth and don’t have to suffer anymore and that you can finally Rest In Peace.
God Bless you, your family and friends and until we meet again............... Cheers Pal here’s Too You! 🍻
