I can see it as if it were yesterday: Helen on stage at Loretto College School, (our high school) along with her sister Kathy and friend Denise, lipsinging as one of the "White" Supremes. Although she wasn't playing Diana Ross, she stole the show. The way she held herself, the expression on her face...she owned the stage.
Whenever she told a story she would act it out, complete with body language, acccent and manner of speech.You'd find yourself laughing along with her as she made fun of human foibles. I think this is what made her such a brilliant social worker and trainer.
And such a special sister.
