Condolence From: Diane Deveaux
Condolence: It's hard to believe that it's almost 1 year since Helen passed. The first year is definitely the worst. I hope that much of the sadness has been replaced with happy memories of Helen. I hope this for Howard, Aaron and all of Helen's siblings. I went through St. Leo's grade school with Helen and Kathy and the Folk Group with Helen, Kathy, Mary-Ellen ,Loretta, Peter, and Rita. I wish happy memories for all of you.

Condolence: Howard and Aaron, I am so sorry to hear of Helen's unexpected passing. I have great memories of Helen from the years we worked together...crazy side trips on our lunch hours, laughing till tears rolled down our faces, the amazing way she told stories. Working side-by-side with Helen was amazing whether developing OW policy, writing training manuals or actual training. She really made work enjoyable. A fantastic woman! She will be missed.

Condolence: I worked with Helen as a trainer. She always had so much energy and the ability to "wing it" We worked well together as she would give me tasks to do which satisfied my organized side. I truly miss working with her. Sorry for your loss Howard and Aaron. She will be missed.

Condolence: Dear Howard,
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Helen, I do know, having known you, that she was a wonderful person. I think of you from time to time as I we did connect as friends during our short time together at the College (and we did say that we would keep in touch, but as such things almost inevitably go, we did not).
Please contact me when the time is right for you and we shall get together.
My deepest sympathy to you and your family for your loss.
Paul

Condolence: To Howard,

I am very sorry for your loss. I was just speaking about you recently and discussing the great times we had all those years ago. You were such a terrific teacher, friend and a person with a calm and caring manner. I think a large part of this came from your happy home life. I am sorry that I never had the chance to get to know Helen. Again, all my best wishes to you and your son. I am truly saddened by your loss.

Condolence: I struggle with the right words to say - as really there are no words to express how deeply shocked and saddened at the unexpected loss of Helen. I was very blessed to get to know Helen and Howard and Aaron over the last two years. We spent countless hours talking, laughing, enjoying the sunshine and working on projects. Helen was my friend, confidant, encourager and advice giver. She helped me in many ways during a difficult time in my life. I do not understand why she was taken so young and I cannot imagine what Howard and Aron must be feeling. This is truly devastating. Helen was so happy to be retired and loved her best friend Howard fiercely. She enjoyed the time she had playing cards with her friends and truly cared about her neighbours. She told great stories and always had great advice about how to handle challenges at work. And we laughed. God did we laugh. I will miss her laugh and her way of looking at life. She told me that she realized that many people had a rough go and that she was very fortunate to have a wonderful husband, a loving son and a great home. She doted on Ralph and had a gentle way with Frank. Helen did not suffer fools but she had endless patience for those she cared about. She told me once that Fatima and Norm and George were not just neighbours, not just friends but truly family that she would do anything for as they had been so good to her and Howard over the years. She took me under her wing and comforted and encouraged me. She challenged me to make good decisions and to live my best life to the fullest. I miss her. I loved her. I am truly saddened by this loss. I hope Howard and Aaron can find some small comfort in their memories, and in the knowledge of her deep love for them. Love does not leave but moving forward without her here will be extremely hard. I know I will see her again and we pick up our conversation where we left off. Rest now Helen and we will all be there to sit in the sunshine with you soon enough. Love always Trudy
