James “Jim” DVERNECHUK Born July 8, 1935 in Toronto, Ontario. Jim passed away peacefully in the company of his family on Friday September 22, 2017. Beloved husband of Darleen (nee Casknette), and cherished father of Debbie (Tim Royer), Ed (Diana Tudor), and John. Proud Papa of Colin, Liam, Ashley (Adam Deganis), and Jamie. Predeceased by mother Stella (Elaschuk), father Charles, and his 8 siblings George, Michael, Nicholas (Olga Stasiuk), Rose (Vic Kuchma), Edward, Mary, Ann and Stella. Guests will be received at G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, 63 Mimico Avenue, Toronto on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 9:00pm. A celebration of Jim’s life will take place the next day Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral home starting at 10:00am. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home and burial will follow the reception at Springcreek Cemetery, 1390 Clarkson Road North, Mississauga. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and are greatly appreciated.
